Phil Bird, painter, musician and songwriter, has his studio at Cyprus College of Art since 2005. First as a visiting artist and more recently as course leader for foundation studies. He has taken part in many exhibitions in Britain, Germany, USA and more recently in Cyprus. He has work in several public and private collections in Britain.

“I never pre-plan a painting with sketches but allow an initial improvised
use of paint to evoke images. I am excited by the powerfull visionary and
metamorphical potential within painting. Myth and folk tales play a part in my
narrative but are there to be interpreted and reinvented in the heart and mind
of each viewer.”
