Anna Georghiou was born in Torquay South Devon, England. After completing her degree in psychology and philosophy and working in mental health and people with hearing disabilities, she came to Cyprus to study Fine Art at the Cyprus College of Art and to discover her Cypriot heritage. Recent exhibitions include, Artists of Fame and Promise at Kypriaki Gonia Larnaca, Collective Exhibition E4 - Out of Limits Slovenia and Creativity from diversity in Strasburg to coincide with an official visit there by president Demetris Christofias entitled Divercyty organised by the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts and the Ministry of Education.

"I draw my subject from the painting process itself and from the Cypriot people and traditional architecture of Cyprus. Honesty in painting is important to me, I am not interested in painting for galleries or painting to sell as this often requires a particular formular of what to do and of what not to do, in accordance to what's fashionable at the time. My paintings are not trying to be intellectual or academic. Instead I allow the subject matter to take care of itself and aim to evoke a sense of tranquility, serenity, beauty and hope through rhythm, colour and form."
